About

Tim Kirk is currently assistant professor of philosophy at the City University of New York-York College in New York, NY, USA, where he specializes in philosophy of nursing and healthcare ethics with an emphasis on hospice and palliative care.  In addition to his appointment at CUNY, he serves as chair of the hospice and palliative care affinity group of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, on the executive board of the International Philosophy of Nursing Society, and as a member of the ethics committee of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.  Dr. Kirk completed a PhD in philosophy at Villanova University in 2004, and is also pursuing his MPH with a concentration in aging from the department of sociomedical sciences at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.  He lives in New York City.
